Extreme Makeover: Sneak Peek
This morning, we stopped by Gainesville's set of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition before the big demolition at dusk tonight (Dec. 8). As workers set the stage for the crazy spectacle and security directed traffic, we got a glimpse of the three huge wood guitars that are going to be used to set the rock-n-roll demo in action. (See image above for a sneak peek.)
We chatted with Evelyn of Harper's Wood Shop in Starke, who just got confirmation to build the 700-lb sculpture (and its smaller counterparts) this Friday. "We've built everything," she told us, "even a motorcycle—but never a guitar!"
Tomorrow, for framing day, spectators are encouraged to bring canned food and to donate blood at the staging area (3301 N. Main St.). Go here for the full story. Stay tuned for more pics and details from tonight's demolition!
