Florida FlyIns in Brazil

This week marks the 10-year anniversary of the Florida FlyIns Exhibition, Latin America: In words, pictures and sounds. The FlyIns is comprised of nine journalism students, selected by Pulitzer-prize winning journalist John Kaplan, in the College of Journalism and Communications at the UF.

Generally the group is made up of writers and photographers, but this year came with the exciting addition of two radio students. Our class ventured to the arid northeastern end of Brazil, the poorest region throughout all of Brazil.  We spent weeks doing in depth research on the region prior to trip, so when arriving we could hit the ground running in hopes of producing, what we consider, the best stories of our life, thus far.

To see the Florida FlyIns Exhibition visit the The Gallery on the second floor of the Reitz Union 9am to 9pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on weekends. The exhibition will run through Dec. 19.
