Softball defeats Northwestern in three-game series




University of Florida softball team sweated a three-game series against Northwestern State, this weekend at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. On Saturday in a doubleheader, the Gators scored early and often, with 20 runs defeating Northwestern State, 15-0 and 5-0. On Sunday afternoon, the streak continued with the Gators putting out four runs on the board to start the game. In the bottom of the second inning, Paculba hit a two-run homer putting the Gators up 6-1. In the third inning fans saw three more Gators cross home plate. With two on base, Bush hit a double, bringing both runners homeand increasing the Gators’ lead to 8-1. Moultrie followed with another double to center field, allowing Bush to score and closing the inning out at 9-1. The Gators closed out the game by scoring one final run in the fourth inning, giving the Gators the 10-1 final victory. Stephanie Brombacher earned all three wins and only gave up one run during the three-game series.
