Lady Gators at it again!

If you missed the Women’s Basketball game Sunday night in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, you missed a thrilling double-overtime. The Gators got off to a slow start, but at the end of the first period the Gators were ahead 34-33. During the second period, Mississippi started out strong but the Gators stayed in the game with Azania Stewart hitting a lay-up to give the Gators a two-point lead. MSU hit another shot to tie the game at 62, and sending it into overtime. During the first overtime, the Gators took the lead but with 33 seconds left, MSU pulled ahead 69-68. Lonnika Thompson hit another basket to bring the Gators on top with 7 seconds left on the clock. MSU drew a foul and hit the two free throws to tie the game, sending it into double-overtime. During the second overtime, the audience was on the edge of its seat watching the back-and-forth battle. With two seconds left on the clock, Jordan Jones hit two free throws for the 80-78 win.
