Gainesville Fashion Week: Day 1

All we can say is, "Wow!" From the people, the food, the art and the fun, Gainesville Fashion Week's kick-off event at Sharab Lounge was an impressive display of Gainesville's community. Before even entering the venue, guests were treated like VIPs with a red-carpet entrance complete with an expert photographer lighting their way. Inside Sharab was littered with freebies like Sephora gift bags, a photo booth and food provided by Calico Jack's and miniature sweets by The Truffle Cake Co.

Our five cover model finalists looked great as they mingled with the crowd. We couldn't have been any happier to see in-house photographer Sean Kelly's work displayed on the walls, along with some other local great artists like Sydney Frost. Courtney Lee also impressed us with her line of delicate jewelry and hair accessories, which she displayed on models parading the event. Between the stylish people, the fabulous craftsmanship of the artists and even a do-it-yourself art station, the Red Carpet Arrival was the perfect example of what GFW is all about: an elaborate display of the awesome local talent that surrounds us everyday.

Join us at the Wolfgang, Calzatura and Kenneth McCraney fashion shows tonight at The Vault for what is sure to be another amazing evening. Follow us on Twitter to win free tix, and check back for more photos and recaps.
