The Thermals Play UF Free Tonight

They’re the little engine that could – if that train was an energetic, outrageous indie trio from Portland, Oregon. The Thermals’ ability to overcome any situation is only matched by its infectious, vibrant music and smart, sharp lyrics. Over the course of eight years, the band has gone through a dream discovery, line-up changes and record label switch. It all helped Now We Can See, the band’s fourth and latest album, become such a hit.

Tonight, be sure to catch The Thermals, along with Past Lives and Holopaw, in the Rion Ballroom, courtesy of RUB Entertainment and Gator Nights. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8.

But before the band reached Florida, bassist Kathy Foster was able to shoot us an email. After detailing the band’s Chinese experience – food, pollution and all – she gave INsite a peak into the trio’s new, darker album that hits the core of human emotion.

Read our interview with the band here.
