Evan Dando is an American musician, most famous for fronting the alternative rock band The Lemonheads. He will play hits like "Into Your Arms," "Its a Shame About Ray" and more. Also playing will be Gainesville's Chris Wollard of Hot Water Music and Gainesville's Colourslide (acoustic). The doors open at 9pm and tickets are $12 in advance ($14 at the door).

Girls go GaGa at Rue Bar

Contestants went all out for the Lady Gaga look-a-like contest at Rue Bar Thursday.

The girls were asked to dress, strut and dance like the newest wacked-out pop diva on the scene.

The winner won a flight and hotel stay in Miami and free tickets to the Lady Gaga concert at the James L. Knight Center on New Year's eve. We are really impressed by the winner's uncanny resemblance.

Florida State vs. Florida Bikini Open

Last Friday night, before the Gators battled the 'Noles on Saturday, a different kind of competition was raging between rival schools UF and FSU.

First Place Winner

The First Annual Florida State vs. Florida Bikini Open was held at Hooters, where VIP attendees could enjoy unlimited wings and beer. The night was full of prizes and giveaways, including Gator Stompin' tickets and a two-night cruise to the Bahamas. The winner, of FSU (sorry, Gators) won $1000 cash and a two-person, two-night cruise.

Gator Basketball Takes All

It was a victorious night for the Gators as fans cheered on their favorite orange and blue teams. The women's basketball team (2-2) dominated over UAB with a 75-39 win, and set a home record with 11 treys. The men's basketball team (4-0) also took down its opponent, as it beat FSU 68-52. On Friday the men's team will go up against its toughest competition yet as it plays No.2 Michigan State in Atlantic City as part of the Legends Classic. The women will play St. John's in Miami for the FIU Thanksgiving Classic. Check out some pics from last night's winning games.
